Aid Posts on Trekking Routes for Fall Season, 2008

As usual HRA aid posts in Manang (3500 m.) and Pheriche (4300 m.) are open from 25th September, 2008 for Fall 2008. These aid posts will remain open till the first week of December 2008. HRA doctors will provide medical facility to sick people and co-ordinate rescue evacuation when the sick patient become seriously ill. Doctors and Nepali staff who are stationed at those aid post are as given bellow:

Conference on bio-diversity kicks off

A three-day ‘International Conference on Mountain Diversity’ kicked off in Kathmandu on November 16. The conference is being organized by International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) and hosts of other international organizations working on bio-diversity conservation.

Nepal participates in World Travel Market in London

A delegation of Nepali tourism industry led by Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) participated in World Travel Market (WTM) in London, the United Kingdom from November 10 to 13. WTM 2008 was attended by around 50,000 industry professionals from more than 200 countries. More than 9,000 exhibitors participated in the fair.

Vintage cars arrive in Kathmandu

Owners of 32 vintage cars arrived in Kathmandu on November 16 as a party of Himalayan Classic Trail 2008 that began from the Netherlands in October. The rally entered Nepal from Gaddachouki entry point in Kanchanpur district on November 14.

Chitwan declared no-strike district

Tiger census begins
